Uh-oh! We don't have this lesson in the Western dialect. It has been replaced with the Western dialect.

VAI or VII? Identify

Instructions

Is it an animate intransitive verb (VAI) or an inanimate intransitive verb (VII)? Hint: try to conjugate the verb in the first person. It works for the VAI, but not for the VII.

Examples: takau 'it is cold out', one cannot say: *nitakan 'I am cold out', so it is a VII; shikatshu 'he is cold', one can say: nishikatshin 'I am cold', so it is a VAI.
